What is Coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting is an innovative procedure to remove fat from the last stubborn areas of your body that seems to hold onto the fat despite exercise and dieting. This non-invasive, painless procedure is primarily used on individuals who are at or very near their target body weight.

Because it is safe and effective, Coolsculpting has become a preferred choice for both men and women.

The effects of Coolsculpting are permanent unless the patient gains weight. Coolsculpting destroys stubborn fat cells by a process called cryolipolysis. The procedure uses extreme cold to break down fat cells.

Adipose tissue, otherwise known as fat cells, are more susceptible to cold and is broken down at a lower temperature than the other cells in the human body. This process is nearly painless, but the patient might feel itching, pinching, or pulling sensation during the 30–60-minute session.

What are the differences between Elite and Traditional CoolSculpting?

Coolsculpting Elite has taken traditional Coolsculpting to the next level by improving several key aspects of the procedure while still maintaining the best of the original treatment. The improvements made with the Elite Coolsculpting system target both the professional applying the procedure and the recipient of the procedure.

Here are some key areas where traditional Coolsculpting and Elite Coolsculpting differ and are similar.

Differences:

Applicator: The applicator for the Elite is equipped with two applicators that are shaped like a C. The concave shape allows the cooling pad to easily glide across the contours of the body whereas the original applicators were U shaped and often challenging to apply to the stomach or other plains on the body. The Elite applicator also comes in 7 different shapes and sizes to fit any body type and features a cooling pad that is 18% larger than the original.

Effectiveness: The Coolsculpting Elite process is more effective than the original and targets twice the amount of tissue in half the time. The two applicators and larger cooling pad allow for a larger area to be treated at once which results in fewer appointments and faster treatments.

Less Discomfort: The Coolsculpting Elite can numb the target area faster due to its larger cooling pad and more direct contact with the skin. This results in less pulling, itching, and pinching sensations at the beginning of the procedure.

Similarities:

Applicator: Both procedures use super-freezing technology to destroy fat cells.

Effectiveness: The Elite and traditional versions of Coolsculpting are both tried and true methods of fat removal that have permanent results in patients who don’t gain additional weight after the procedure.

Less Discomfort: Both procedures are very nearly painless, don’t require an anesthetic, and are non-invasive. Gone are the days when fat reduction meant seeing a plastic surgeon and undergoing risky surgeries with long recovery times.
